The first number one song of the year was claimed by Josh Groban with his song "I'll Be Home For Christmas" (''Noël'', 2007). The following week, Colbie Caillat replaced Groban with her song "Bubbly" from her debut studio album ''Coco'' (2007). "Bubbly" was Caillat's first song to reach number one the Adult Contemporary chart. On May 24, Sara Bareilles replaced Caillat at number one with her song "Love Song" from her debut studio album ''Little Voice'' (2007). It spent 13 consecutive weeks at number,〔〔 before Leona Lewis displaced her twice from the peak, therefore spending 15 non-consecutive weeks atop the chart in total.〔〔 Lewis rose to the number one position on August 23 with her song "Bleeding Love" (''Spirit'', 2007).〔 The following week on August 30, Bareilles replaced Lewis at number one,〔 and was displaced again by Lewis on September 6.〔 Bareilles peaked atop the chart for a final time the following week on September 13,〔 but was displaced again not by Lewis, but by David Cook on September 20 with his debut single "The Time of My Life".〔 "Love Song" ranked at number one on the 2008 Adult Contemporary year end chart.〔 On September 27, Lewis replaced Cook with "Bleeding Love" for a further two consecutive weeks;〔〔 the song spent four non-consecutive weeks atop the chart in total and ranked at number four on the 2008 Adult Contemporary year end chart.〔 To date, "Bleeding Love" is Lewis' first and only song to reach number one the Adult Contemporary chart. On October 11, Cook resumed the number one position with "The Time of My Life" for a further 10 consecutive weeks,〔〔 spending 11 non-consecutive weeks atop the chart in total. It ranked at number eight on the 2008 Adult Contemporary year end chart.〔 On December 20, Faith Hill replaced Cook at number one with her song "A Baby Changes Everything" from her first Christmas album ''Joy to the World'' (2008).
